Auction Inspections

Inspection Day Requirements

Equip-Bid's definition of inspection is the bidder is able to see and touch the actual lot they will be bidding on.

  • Affiliates schedule their auction inspections, based on what makes sense for that particular auction. If the affiliate chooses to set a specific date and time for their inspections, they should set reasonable time frames (long enough and during times of the day) so bidders who want to inspect the assets are able to do so. If the affiliate chooses not to have a defined inspection date and time but rather chooses to state “inspections by appointment;" the affiliate needs to have a system in place to respond to inspection requests and be reasonably available for inspection appointments.

  • Bidders must be allowed, at no expense, to inspect the actual lot they may be interested in bidding on. The only exception to this is if the affiliate is selling a brand new factory sealed item and is willing to allow the winning bidder to open the carton during removal and refuse the item if it is not as described.

  • Affiliates need to make the inspection process as simple and hassle-free for the bidders as possible.
